Designer faces criticisms for creating same-sex nativity ornaments

Designer, Mark Thaler, created two Christmas tree decorations; one with two Josephs with the baby Jesus and another with two Marys with the baby Jesus, effectively depicting the parents of Jesus as a homosexual couple. This has led to criticisms from fundamentalist Christian groups who see these designs as blasphemous...

Christian Concern, is one such fundamentalist religious groups outraged by this decoration. They called the ornaments a ‘blasphemous attempt to rewrite the Christmas story’ and expressed frustrations at the length to which the LGBT community will go to normalise their behaviour.
The ornaments were being sold on an online shop, but have been taken down following public outcry. The designer of the ornaments, Thaler, has said that he removed the decorations only out of respect for his fellow humans. He still sells other LGBT-themed ornaments on the online store.
